News 8: optomap® Retinal Scan Can Save Eyesight

Without improvements in preventing and treating eye diseases, the number of visually impaired or blind americans will grow to over 5 million in the next decade. Advances in technology could help to reduce those numbers and save your eyesight with the optomap Retinal Exam. Marilyn Hill went to a regular eye exam recently and learned she had a hemorrhage in her retina with no symptoms to detect the problem. The hemorrhage and the beginnings of macular degeneration showed up in her optomap image. It saved Marilyn's vision and medications now have her eye problem under control.
