Stompe played the match of his life against Taylor in that final. Phil put the record straight at the WC, and then beat Barney in the final with the highest average ever recorded in a final. How you can see Taylor now regularly hitting 105+ (and often 110+) averages and say he's not as good as he used to be is beyond me.

lol have you even watched a PDC event this year? Taylor is better in the later end this year than hes ever been. He will win this years world title...and the next....then who knows after that. he can win as many as he wants....as for Co stompe...he is a good player and yes he beat taylor in germany but taylors been winning day in day out for 20 years...one defeat here and there aint bad. Get over it. he will be dominant as long as he wants.

Today Phil lost the German Darts Championship final to Co Stompé with 4-2 in sets. Perhaps the BDO isn't that bad at all, because that's were Co played untill may this year.

Ofcourse Phil is good but I don't see him nor Barney win the 09 Worldtitle. I think Phil's domination is over, everybody knows he's beatable more than he ever was. Look at Bristow's career, he lost all his finals in the late 80s/early 90s.

i dont agree 1 bit...taylor is a better player than he ever has been and thats a fact..since he has changed his darts his 3 dart averages are higher and his finishing is better thats also a fact..i have been following him since the early 90s so i can see the change

They both need to level up their game if they want to become World Champion '09. Taylor isn't as good as he was before the World Championship lose in '07. Raymond took a break and came back to reach the final here, that should give him hopes for the near future.

I think it wasn't nessesary for Phil to switch darts and learn a totally different dartstyle. Phil should'nt have done that in my opinion.

WDC '09 favorites: James Wade, Alan Tabern or Mervyn King.
