I know the woman who sings the song on the Cold Mountain soundtrack. Her name is Cassie, and she is from Alabama. You should check out the Ballads collected by Cecil Sharpe. You have the voice to sing them authentically and I imagine you could be sensational with these Ballads. Who knows? You may be destined for a recording.
