www.freshbakedprinting.com printed some photochromatic ink yesterday. The video is of the color change effect when exposed to UV light, aka, the sun.
It was cloudy. On a sunny day, the effect is faster and a little more intense.
Photochromatic ink is a bit of a challenge to print because when you print it over an underbase, you can't see it! A real bear to align. The absolute best application for Photochromatic ink is on a good 'ole white t-shirt. It will look like your shirt is blank until you go outside, then bam, your image appears!
Also, it's not the softest print because you need to print it through an 83 mesh to lay down as much ink as practical.
When printing on any other shirt color other than white, it needs the white underbase.
The ink comes in orange, purple (shown in the vid) and blue.
Photochromatic inks is a unique way to show your shirt!
