From the "The New Border War" article:

This remains one of the biggest games in Ohio Stadium history as the long awaited first Big Ten meeting between these two tradition-rich schools. And on a rainy/snowy day, OSU moved a step closer to its first Big Ten title in seven years with a resounding win.

TB Raymont Harris carried 32 times for 159 yards and a touchdown for the Buckeyes. Joey Galloway caught a 25-yard TD pass from Bret Powers and Butler Bynote added a 4-yard TD run. OSU went on to finish 10-1-1 after a Holiday Bowl win over BYU. PSU, which mustered just two field goals, ended up 10-2.

  • Why the nasty comments? Be proud of your school/ team, but be even more proud of the great players on both sides who played in this game. In tailbacks alone you have Ki Jana Carter, Eddie George, and Raymont Harris -- that's pretty high company. Kerry Collins is still playing in the NFL. Dan Wilkinson also had an extensive NFL career, and unfortunately Korey Stringer's was cut short as was his life tragically. So show some class for the players and the schools, if not for yourselves.

  • Quite a "whoppin'" last night, huh?

  • Penn State & Ohio State are now very good Big 10 rivals

  • So fitting that the first big ten game ever between these two was played in the snow....there is a god

  • Sadly, PSU paid OSU back, HARD, the following season. A loss OSU has made up for by winning more vs. JoePa than JoePa can against OSU... but not in the score department. I would love to see OSU bury PSU back for the 94 humiliation.

  • Penn State usually played good teams as an Independent. Sure, they had Rutgers and Temple, but what were Nebraska, Notre Dame, Miami, Alabama, and Pitt? Teams that dominated the top of the college football world, that's who! Penn State does about in the Big Ten now like they did as an Indy, a set of good years, 0, 1, or 2 losses, a few okay years, 3-4 losses, and a few five or more loss years.

  • From 12/17/2009:

"Penn State and Iowa led all Big Ten schools with three AP All-Americans."

And you beat Iowa by a field goal after Ioiwa came back from a 24-10 deficit against their 2nd string QB.

Oregon destroyed USC, you lost to USC at home. I wouldn't be too confident going into the Rose Bowl there Buckeye. If your defense can't keep Masoli and Co. off the field, it's gonna be a long day in Columbus for the start of 2010.

  • Was that eddie george on that last carry?..

  • i remember watching this game, amazed that it was 70 degrees in New England where i was while snowing, cold & wet in Columbus...

  • Ohio State right now is the best team in the conference. Penn State is much weaker than last year, Iowa is tough but they have to come to our house, and you know what happens when they come to our house - they get buried

  • This is when Penn St realized they weren't playing Rutgers and Temple every game anymore. Welcome to the Big Ten.

  • PSU is STILL only 6-10 vs OSU in B10 play. Please get too much of the "big head" guys, you all thought you would win a defensive battle in your house in 07 too. So much for all that talk about how PSU would dominate the B10. This is a great rivalry as it should be. See you in Nov! Iowa???? Come on, get real!!!! Everyone needs to quit riding these turds jock. They only beat PSU last year because PSU had an OSU hangover! Go Bucks!!!!
