First, your opinion on Harry Potter is not valid as you, yourself, have said you need to have really experienced something to form an opinion.
Harry Potter may not be challenging reading, but the symbolism behind many stories and creatures are more complicated than many children stories.
I agree with you though, people need to read more than these trash novels that are so popular. I'm speaking about Twilight more so than anything else. That whole series is garbage.

I don't disagree that harry potter makes you think beyond the story but i think you can take it for more then face value. every character has made mistakes just like people in real life. there is prejiduice in this book as well. there is a dividing line between good and evil but harry is one example that there is good and evil in all of us. its a simple kids story that could be looked at as a reflection on society and life...but its not meant to be that way
