The Kingston Trio has a variation on this song called "New York Girls" which came out over half a century ago on their album, "...from the Hungry i". Their version takes place on Bleeker Street. The last line other than the chorus is, "Dressed in a ladies' apron, I wandered most forlorn, 'til Martin Churchill took me in and he sent me 'round Cape Horn."
