Adrian Beltre will sign a 2-year deal with the Red Sox for somewhere between $15-$20 mil. Mike Lowell no longer in the mix. Matt Holliday on verge of nearly $100 mil. deal with the Cardinals. Jason Bay passes physical, will join Mets.

  • He is all about fileding, whatever you get from him at the plate is a plus...it could be Fenway is going to be a much better place for him to hit, time will tell. ...But he is a fantastic fielder who will win more games with his glove than his bat.

  • Beltre certainly brings it in the field, and he is still capable of 20-75 at the dish> solid move for Sox.

  • Having watched Beltre here in the pacific northwest for the past 5 years, he was an awful hitter. Swinging at pitches way out of the strike zone, etc. BUT, he was fabulous at third base. He may hit better in the Sox lineup with some help behind him. The Mariners offense has been horrible the last few years. Being that I watch the Mariners a ton, I'm just thrilled that they got Cliff Lee.
