@TheBENGALHANNIBAL odd thing, and respect pls. but when a classical scholar in the "west" even Russia as seen as asian as in Edward Said's scholarly book: Orientalism. a neat book. it was seen by those scholars as a way of thinking.....I am just saying, this is the way classics departments teach it at grad school level. the map part I get.

@TheBENGALHANNIBAL No, I admit to nothing. You have your opinion, and I have mine. I would like to understand why you're so judgmental, and angry, and why you refuse to hear any other perspective. If you go to Wikipedia they explain VERY clearly about where the terms Near East, Middle East, and Far East originate, and the differences in usage from when it was originally used and today's usage. I think you're reading a lot into the term. What would you call the area that we call Middle East?
