There is such thing as a success story of local citizens and public servants coming together preventing water theft. Local citizens uncovered the truth about a stealth operation involving a 20 million dollar proposal to buyout a public utility. A grassroots effort saved the water from privatization in a small town called Emmaus tucked in the hills of Pennsylvania. This is a story of one such water hero.




Dr. Barnaby Ruhe, a beloved neighbor who lives on the outskirts of a quaint town in Pennsylvania and a professor at New York University who teaches classes in Art and Shamanism, has a deep passion for saving the environment as a citizen. He feels that writing a letter to your congressman isn't enough action against some of the sneaky tactics private companies use to gain power over particular public utilities like water.

Ruhe recalls the turning point where, "Ardy Rodale stood up at the local township meeting," and stated, "Do right by the citizens of Emmaus." "Then they knew they couldn't cash the 20 million dollar stealth check burning in their pocket."




Dr. Ruhe suggests that taking local action at the township level is the best approach to saving public water rights. It was the inquisitive nature of a local citizen that saved the public water rights for all who live in the township.

I think coke was soposed to be an herbal tonic when it was first created by a pharmacist they still use many of the same herbs and spices, so have some on your birthday or when you are on a plane but too much of a good thing ....
