  • I really think youre right, but i think, as i said its because the people arent acclimated on Just Intonation, but my Opinion is, that Just Intonation will lead the people to more possibilities ,

and it think the people will get used to it very fast.

Just Intonation is natural and equal temperament is a compromiss, so its just a matter of time that the people get used to the natural way of music.

  • Yeah, maybe JI will get "new music" to someplace new. Currently - it's stuck. Nice, but at a standstill.

  • No, i dont think the world would be sad place, becuase the people would acclimate to the old tuning, you see people had to acclimate to equal temperament, and so after a few years they would acclimate to Just Intonation.

I think it would be wonderfull^^

  • I remember reading research result regarding just intonation. The population that was exposed to a piece of music in just intonation (in the background, while the group performed other activities), was reported to be more sombre and sad than the test population that was exposed to equal temperament music. I like just intonation, but I think that there's something true in that research.

  • Imagine, every Band would play in just intonation.

  • The world would be a very sad place then :-) Until someone will discover "standard" tuning and will be regarded as avant-garde.

  • this reminds me how we must be strange creatures sometime.

  • Is this off the gramavision 2cd, or?

  • wicked slide solo at 7:44

  • interessante...............................

  • as far as this discussion of just intonation goes... i think you can only find this kind of tuning to seem happy if you smoke weed all of the time or do psychedelic drugs frequently. otherwise, your ears just won't be attuned to it. it's for a different kind of mental state. regardless, i find javanese gamelan music to be similar to this, and more enjoyable to boot. i can still appreciate its beauty sober

  • If you don't know very much about just intonation please don't post like you do, it gives other people the wrong idea about what it is. Also, anyone who believes that music, of any kind, is in a standstill is extremely misguided and ignorant to the world of music in general.

  • "Jimmy Yancey and Little Richard's on percussion."??

Pretty certain that was Jonathan Kane!

  • JI needs to appear in dance music. it is the all night techno clubs with sweet soundsystems which provide anything resembling the kind of immersive deep listening situation Young and contemporories were after. also it is a culture in some ways not afraid of sonic experimentation (besides the demand to dance)

  • Anyone?
