  • where is this beautiful monastery?

  • @Bruce99100 Abbazia di Piona sul lago di Como.

  • I, too, would like to know where the photos were taken? Thank you.

  • @charade97

Le immagini sono dell'Abbazia di Piona sul

lago di Como provincia di Lecco. Grazie. Walter.

  • listening to albert ketelbey is an opportunity to know one of the best composers in the world. his music lifts our souls up to ecstasy sensations, which no drugs are able to do it, and with a big difference: music is very good to health.

  • Semplicemente musica Angelica è questa. Grazie da Walter.

  • I really love "In a Monastery Garden" it is accompanied by so many very happy memories for me. Albert Ketelbey composed such picturesque music you can't help but "see" his music as well as hear it.

  • Ketelbey was British. Very successful and very rich. He conducted many

recordings in the days of the 78 rpm records.

    Thanks for the melodious post.

  • Beautiful and peace to soul. Kaunista ja rauhaa tuova sielulle.

  • It's kitsch, but it's fun.

  • i have just found this record in boxes we had forgotten about ....flip side cavaleria rusticana ..they are both beautiful

  • I had an old 78 of this when I was about 10 which was played on a wind up gramophone (over and over). There was a sock (clean) stuffed in the the loudspeaker to muffle it (hence put a sock in it). Miss the scratchy sounds that accompanied the music. Nostalgic.

  • This piece would be even more impressive if we could be convinced that Ketelbey had never, ever heard Tchaikovsky's "Waltz of The Flowers". Sounds to me like Ketelbey borrowed a line or two from it.

  • This is sublime!

  • This version is so much better......and very beautiful vocals.
