81 & 82. Olympic Stad, Montreal. was acoustically INSANE. insane insane . it echoed. AND it gave 82 Hutchinson Skyryders a fantastics sound( all those added fiths)

I marched saprano in 82, we were beating Vanguard in marching some of the year. We placed 9th, I took 83 off and I think they took 8th, I came back for 84, and we took 9th. 84 was very interesting , we set new strides by singing, and we had the gaurd join us in the opening with supranos, we might have been the loudest corpts ever.

Yes, we made 8th in prelims, 9th in finals, beat Vangaurd in marching a few times in the year.

My Bass drum instructor marched 3rd bass in this show. He was only a drum away from playing the snare, tenor and top two basses accented sixtuplet single breaks at about 1:15... darn lol, but I wish I could play in a drum corps like this. Not enough money, thats what a lot of stuff comes down to nowadays

I truly miss the Freelancers. It's a shame they haven't competed with other DCI World Class corps for quite a few years.  It's my hope that someday they will come back as a full-fledged drum and bugle corps.

pretty sure both of my parents marched with the freelancers in 82, anyone know radar? that was my dads nickname, he played soprano, my mom was in the colorguard.

What a great show Where is the rest of the performance. I noticed that on the CD for that year they have the skyriders.
