"Don't Stop Me Now" by "Queen" played on a Technics KN6000 keyboard by Stephen Macdonald.

This was recorded in two takes. The first take is the main part of the video and is me playing the piano part with piano & string voices, with a footswitch to start/stop the drum rhythm. The second take is the bottom-right corner insert for the saxophone-vocals and electric guitar riff. The videos for both are combined using AviSynth & VirtualDub on the PC.

There's also a 2nd version of this on my profile which has the video rotated around so the piano is easier to follow.

This is such a great song, although by far the hardest thing I've ever tried - let's just say it took quite a few attempts to video this without significant mistakes :-)

  • Jeez, thats really amazing. It's really hard the piano part. Respect!

  • Yeah, it was tricky, especially since I'm not really a piano player. Each of the 3 verses are slightly different from each other, ditto for the 2 choruses, and ditto for the intro/outro, so it took quite a while to memorise it all.

  • BTW, nice keyboard ;) Plays great... I'm now saving for a Yamaha Tyros 3!

  • That's a lot of saving to do...

  • Technics have always made good keyboards. Good enough for recording.

I've used mine on my MIDI SYMPHETTE FOR PSEUDO FOUR PIECE. Paste the title into the bar or click my name to watch.
