the it's-a-phase argument always make me angry, and is part of the reason why I haven't told that many people that I'm bi. I just don't have the patience to have that discussion over and over again.

I don't understand why some gays have problems with bis or don't like them. I'm gay too, and I want to be treated respectfully by other people. Every gay girl I know wants that too. Why would we treat bis or trans or whatever without respect? If we do so, we don't deserve being treated respectfully as well. And being treated like shit sucks. For all people

Yep. That's basically what happened to me when I tried to label myself as just gay or straight.I went apeshit bonkers. I'd convince myself I just liked girls, and then I would like a guy, which would lead me into convincing myself I was straight, but I would still be confused as to why a "straight person" still liked girls.
Because I'm not straight or gay. I'm bisexual.
