at 2:29, could you tell me how you figure out the shape of the cross boards with the hole in the center? that is the one major problem I'm running in building my boat; and, how to figure out to cut the side panels with their turn, I know there's got to be a mathematical formula but I've searched google and look other places without success. Perhaps you can help me with these two problems? By the way your boat is really nice, and I built my centerboard trunk similar to yours.

malanga 13: I misled you. The center seat "hatch" panels were cut out after I had the fore and aft side panels cut out. I then clamped them in place and measured out the opening, and cut a piece of cardboard to fit, then transfer to plywood. With all the panels clamped, I drilled "tie wire" holes along the "mating" edges to hold everything in place after I had GelMagic-ed them together. Once cured, I "jump stitched" around the seams, filleted them, and added a layer of 3" glass tape.

malanga13: One of the earlier videos shows how to figure out how to determine the shape of the panels. Use cardboard first. On the shaping of the hull panels, I use a 2D drawing program to layout the curves. Then print out the model, make any changes, then do it all over again. It took me 50+ models to arrive at this design.
