Broadway composer Steve Karmen penned this. It was a major campaign for the empire state to get tourists. the original t v jingle was slower in tempo and wasn't done up disco. it even has lyrics other than the chorus! it was just perfect timing that philly/ny dance label salsoul records put their spin on the song.. why is the the short version? LOL
