How come, you say? 'Cos you can't get a B-3 to sound cheesy enough to imitate a Vox Continental (if you had the money to buy one) or a Farfisa (if you didn't). At the time Augie had the money, so he got a Vox and all the cheese you could want.

Thanks for posting this. We still miss you, Doug Sahm, and IMHO, only Fats Domino, Allen Toussaint and Johnnie Johnson can top Augie Meyers when it comes to tickling the ivories.

What a kick to see Doug impersonating Jagger, on a Ray Davies song yet! But why not? The band was named to cash in on the British Invasion. And Borderwave named to cash in on new wave. Hard album to find, and I've never seen it on CD. I'm told it's one of his best.
