My first experience buying silver in California was mixed - I had to pay 8% tax on top of the premium, but I did get a proof coin when I ought to have gotten a regular ounce. Not a bad deal! Also, I explain the biggest Cash4Gold scam ever - it was when the Federal Reserve, along with Nixon, took us off the gold standard! He literally gave us cash for gold, but in a bad way!

  • @mikethebodacious Yeah, I actually tried to open the case, and it seems to be sealed.

  • You got ripped off because when sliver was low i got 1 oz for 16.00 DOLLARS!!!!!!!

  • @bigk2080 I would take $1000 tax over the the $1500 California will pay anytime. However, you are right, that's still bullshit. Taxing the poor. Should be the other way around. Then maybe these coin shop wouldn't run out of them so fast. Kinda like the limit 2 per customer at a BestBuy when they got a deep discount on electronics.

  • I just cleaned out one of those Cash for Gold stands setup at my local mall on May 17th. They only had 6 to begin with. 1987 Eagles like you, however, they were not Proof and are sandblasted background. I got them for $36 a pop plus tax came out to be a little over $39. They didn't even have air-tites to put them in and just put them in individual zip lock bags.

  • @AgentThis99 "Out-of-the-Box Gold Store" in Palm Desert

  • uk %20 vat on all silver , plus premium , ps DO NOT OPEN THE CASE,,,,,,,,

  • MA has the same bullshit tax for bullion under $1,000.

  • @hooverdog1957 Personally, I think taxes are nothing more than state sponsored theft. I don't believe our governments (local, state, or federal) have our best interests at heart, they're just looking out for themselves. Most politicians have never had real jobs, they just leech off society and have gained incredible wealth and power do so. Just my opinion.

  • @zz911wasInsideJobzz I live in Texas where we have to pay sales tax for any bullion purchase under $1000. I agree with your question, but also why do the poorest citizens have to pay a tax while the richest don't. The government is taxing the working man when he is trying to save and protect himself from inflation. Why the common citizen can't see these tricks is totally beyond me. I know the common working guy is usually uneducated because he went to a government controlled public school.

  • $64.99 at APMEX right now with with box and COA for that exact S proof
