Dwarf Fortress Video Tutorial part 04 - Mining and making beds

Part 04: Finnaly we start mining out the fortress. Also i explain stockpiles, and how to chop down trees and make beds.

I'm playing the game with tilesets and graphics because it makes the game make much more sense. Im using the Guybrush 16x16 tileset, Dystopian Rhetoric's graphics set, and an updated color scheme.

My dwarves have stopped doing their jobs, the carpenter will not build his carpenters shop, what is going on?

@Ch1spy4 Press U and see what they are doing. He's probably to busy doing something else.

@Ch1spy4 Then make sure the dwarfs have the appropriate labor enabled, and make sure the building isnt suspended or something. Try creating another workshop to.

Everything's been working fine (apart from the fact I have no male cats) but now a problem's came up, one of my miners isn't doing anything at all. He's just sitting there with "No job" even though he's designated to dig stuff.

If your having award time with ur guys doing absolutely nothing, try having ur miners dig out large areas for ore, your guts will haul it to a stockpile (p,s) that's you designate

Umm My miners are mining but my wood cutters and herb dudes just stand around doing nothing... I think I did something wrong any suggestions?
