This is a primal food recipe video for Homemade Nutella (aka Primal Nutella, aka Vegan Nutella) made for Mark Sisson's Primal Health Challenge over at http://MarksDailyApple.com

It's both a primal recipe and a vegan recipe, oddly enough. It's good for gluten-free diets, low-cal, vegetarian, zone... whatever! It's just nuts, cocoa, stevia, and coconut oil. Enjoy the video!

  • Do you live in a hot climate? My coconut oil is solid at room temperature which makes me wonder if we're talking about different things, and what it would spread like if I did make it with the oil I have

  • @Taurich We're talking about the same thing. Most coconut oil will solidify below 68"F or so... Just take a scoop of the solid coconut oil and melt it gently in a little saucepan over low heat before adding it to the rest. Best of luck! :)

  • Can I use sugar in place of stevia? and if so, how much sugar would should i put in it?

  • @jojobnice07 Yes you can! I recommend using powdered sugar instead of granulated sugar, just because it'll be smoother. I'd suggest starting with 3 tbsp and sweetening to taste after that if it's not sweet enough. :)

  • @fritchbeetle thanks! it came out wonderfully!! putting them on my coconut pancakes as soon as possible! :)

  • @jojobnice07 Wahoo!! That's what I like to hear! Thanks for the feedback! :)

  • 5 stars for the mere fact this recipe is nutella

  • Where do all of my comments go? Sorry if I end up posting twice.

Does this taste just like Nutella? I've already roasted 1 cup of hazelnuts for a different recipe, but I want to try yours because there's no dairy in it and I love coconut oil.

BTW, after you roast the nuts, you can place them into a clean towel and roll them around to help get the skins off.

    Thank you for the recipe!

  • @Taurich They're definitely the same thing. I live in Minnesota and my coconut oil is solid at room temp as well. Coconut oil just solidifies at 72F, if I remember correctly. Heating it up a bit might help make the nutella smoother though.

  • @dustinmays You may also consider using less hazelnuts and make a blend with almonds. Justin's chocolate hazelnut butter is a blend of both and it's delicious :)

  • @dustinmays I usually get my hazelnuts at Trader Joe's. But yes, hazelnuts are the more expensive of the nuts. ;)

  • Where do you get your hazelnuts? Everywhere I look, they're ridiculously expensive.
