Chapter 8
**Bellwood, (Some small town outside of Chicago) Illinois**
A: Ready? [She turned to Deanna as she clutched the unlocked handle of their hotel room door.]
D: Open it!!
[Alyse pushed down on the handle and the door swung open, revealing a small entrance way with a closet. As she looked past the closet, Alyse saw a small yet cozy kitchen and living space, complete with a full refrigerator and flat screen tv. Deanna followed her, leaving her suitcases at the door and staring open-mouthed around the room.]
D: We get to live HERE, for three months?
A: Looks like it [She said with a smile, pulled back the curtains on the window, which overlooked the lake the hotel was on.] Its gorgeous.
D: Yeah, too bad we'll probably be too tired to notice it after rehearsal.
A: Probably. So lets have a look at where we'll be getting not tired! [She walked to the middle of three doors along the wall and opened it to find a fancy porcelain toilet and bathtub with a shower head.]
D: Haha you can have that room [She opened another door and plopped on the double bed inside. Alyse was just opening the door to the other room to do the same when her phone began vibrating in her pocket. She pulled it out and beamed.]
A: Hey Nick! {AN-yay ;) }{AN-omj I just reazlied the abbreviation for "author's note" is also the first letters of Alyse and Nick’s names!! A&N!!! yeah.}
N: Hey smiley.
A: How do you know I'm smiling?
N: I can hear it in your voice. Either youre having some fun or youre glad I called.
A: Both. Deanna and I just got to our hotel room and its amazing.
N: Cool. But you know, when you become a big movie-star-dancer-person, all the hotel rooms begin to look the same.
A: Well you know, I'll try not to let the perks of being a big movie-star-dancer-person get to me.
N: Good. [He smiled. And he kept smiling for the next 45 minutes, until he and Alyse finally hung up. He then walked outside to stretch his legs and get some fresh air. He walked into the rest stop and saw Joe chatting it up with the girl behind the counter. Boy did she look star struck. And since when was Joe such a great flirter? Usually he just relied on his jokes and fame to make small talk with any girl, but now it seemed like he was really applying himself. Maybe hed been holding out on Nick when hed asked for advice. Nick was just wondering if he should ask Joe again for some tips for flirting with Alyse when Kevin came up beside him.]
K: Hey bro. Hows Alyse.
N: Oh you know. Great. [Kevin smiled at him, then took a step toward the counter. He stopped when he saw the girl calling over an older gentleman to take over the register, then she hopped over the counter and followed Joe outside.]
K: Thats great. Not only is he dating a new girl every week, hes picking up random ones at rest stops. [Kevin started out the door and Nick followed.]
N: I know. Its like he hasnt been the same since-
K: Cassie, I know. [He stopped in the middle of the parking lot and looked around. Joe and the cashier girl were no where to be seen.] Thats just fantastic. Listen, I have to go talk to Dad, do you think you could look for them?
N: Sure thing. [Nick looked around the back of the gas station and on the bus, making sure to look in Joes bunk, and thanking God they werent in there-talk about awkward. Nick was just walking around the back of the bus to get out another case of bottled water when he found them. Joe had the girl pinned against the side of the bus, completely unaware that Nick was staring at him as he sucked the girls face. Nick slammed the storage door shut, and the girl jumped into Joes arms out of surprise.]
N: You need a little work on your innocent pose. And Dad wants to see you.
[Joe came onto the bus a minute later, looking guilty.]
J: Wheres Dad?
N: How should I know?
J: You said he wanted to see me.
N: I lied. [He shrugged.] You probably lied to her. [He pointed towards the building.]
J: Look, Im bored, she was lonely. Sue me for being friendly.
N: You could have just talked to her.
[Joe ran a hand through his hair and sighed.]
J: Youre not gonna tell mom and dad, are you?
N: Why shouldnt I?
J: Because I know its stupid and I promise I'll stop.
[Nick popped open a diet coke and took a long drink before answering.]
N: Fine. But I have one question; what line did you use on her?
