You forgot to mention the crime and single mothers.

I dunno how nuts that is, really. It was a one income world then. That is the REAL reason women stayed home and the men went out and earned the living. None of this "me Tarzan, you Jane" shit. And who wouldn't rather stay home and clean house and cook than go out and bust their ass to pay the bills? See, the men TOOK CARE of their families. And despite this being a TWO+ income society now, it's a LOT more common these days for a single mother to take care of things alone.
