Here's an Eastman 815 Mandola.I have played a Weber mandola, and it was incredible, but this Eastman does justice to the instrument as well. I could own this and be happy, for my mandola playing purposes, which are largely undefined. Nice job again, Eastman.

  • thats cool....how much do those usually run in cost?

  • Hey there. I think they are usually priced a little higher than a mandolin simply because bigger = more wood and labor. It's only few hundred dollars difference though, so this retails around $1800 or so. The 815 mandolin retails $1600, I think.

  • I am looking into starting to play and I was wondering if you could link me to a good sounding one for a beginner mandola? Thanks.

  • Eastman 815 Mandola hmmmmm.... might have to get one

  • Nice demo! Thanks very much for this. I think it's really helpful—not just to people considering buying Eastman mandolas, but to any mandolinists thinking about expanding to this instrument too.

  • Nice! Looks and sounds yummy. I have a 1912 H1 that I really like to play -- its a great change of pace from the mandolin. As to tunes to play I like to play G and C tunes on the mandola as they are easier for me to sing along with. Great vid!
