Hey guys, this is my review of the Casio G'zone Brigade phone.
Overall, it sucks. It is nearly indestructible, but the software is the real problem.
It's programmed incorrectly, and almost as bad the Rzr as far as performance.
The overall memory is pretty low and doesn't allow for much processing space. Likewise the phone is plagued with problems.
These include
- shuts off and resets after sending texts
- slow operation
- the phone will shut off when trying to load something "too complicated" like a video off of a memory card.
- it doesn't always ring or alert you to calls
- sometimes incoming calls don't come through to you
- many programming glitches where there were whoever loaded the programs onto the phones did not code the operating systems correctly (Trust me, I would know. I'm majoring in Computer Systems Information.)
As of a few days ago, I could not send or receive text messages. I left my phone sitting overnight attempting to send a text to a friend. I had full signal and internet/data reception. Yet nothing. I am able to send picture messages, however the screen freezes with the "message sent" and also saves the message.
I am unable to read, view, delete, or do anything with any messages in my inbox, sent folder, or drafts folder.
I cannot receive voice mail.
Most calls as of a few days ago no longer come through to me. Also, trying to send calls is almost impossible. I have to hang up and try again (or reboot my phone by taking the battery out, which is a literal nail breaker. Casio warns you that trying to remove the battery cover will break your nails. I can usually connect a call after the 3rd try.
Trying to load anything off of a memory card takes forever.
You can take a picture with the phone and view it fine as long as the media is saved to the phone. If you transfer it to a memory card and then view it, it takes forever to load.
If you set a custom wallpaper, the phone usually glitches, shuts off, and then goes back to the default background.
It also repeatedly wills end texts to people you didn't send an original text to. (i.e. I text my mother, it will send the text to my sisters boyfriend or someone).
It's also very hard for people to hear you.
Please note this is my second Brigade. It hasn't been abused, and it was replaced under warranty.
These are the most recurring problems, there are plenty others that happen irregularly due to how bad the programming is.
Oh, and the video quality sucks.
Yes, I did do a full system reset on the phone. The software and roaming is fully upgraded. It didn't fix anything.
Here is a thread where other have had the same issues:

However, there are some good qualities to it:
- sending and receiving media messages is really fast.
- the reception is exceptional
- it is indestructible (and very water proof provided everything is locked down correctly).
- the hardware works exceptionally well. it's just the software that sucks.
Initially, I LOVED this phone. I thought it was perfect for me, since I'm pretty active and I'm a college student. I didn't want a phone that could break easily so I wouldn't be out of a means of communication. However, the phone has pretty much screwed itself up with the awful software.
Overall I give the phone a 2 out of 5. The hardware and durability is awesome. everything else, well, isn't.
I don't recommend this phone to anyone.
Well, maybe as a 7th grader's first phone... but nothing else.
