  • Not sure exactly, to be honest. But it is the area of Beyond the Pale, a new route by Andy Scott

  • Double ropes on a sport route could be useful if there's a risk of rockfall or very sharp edges, or because you don't own a single rope. 18Ell's desrciption of how to use twin ropes is incorrect. When using twin ropes you are always supposed to clip both ropes to every piece of pro. It sounds like 18Ell has twin ropes confused with double ropes, but they are not the same thing. Take care, know your stuff, don't die.

  • Some people use twin ropes when doing a route that involves a traverse or climbs diagonally, therefore you use two ropes to avoid drag. For example If you're climbing between two routes and you clipped a bolt to your left, then right, then left, then right etc it would cause rope drag. So you use one rope for the ones on the left and one for the ones to your right. However I have no idea why he clipped both ropes into one bolt at the beginning of his climbing

  • @OlliHolliCa You wouldn't. No idea why these guys are lol.

  • why would you use double ropes on a sport route? ive never climbed outdoor sport so its a genuine question. cheers

  • Nice wellies!

  • Whats the route at 5:00 Please?
