This is the wedding of Donald McIsaac and Mary Bessie Macmillan originally shot in 9mm film in 1938. This film reel was discovered in the back of a drawer at 20 Woodend Drive in Jordanhill, Glasgow at the house of my great aunts (Mary's sisters). Donald was my grandfather who died before I was born and Mary was my Grandmother who died when I was three. I think this is a great wee film and captures well the elegance of the time and the occasion well. The top hats and fur coats are fantastic. The slow motion gives it a dreamy quality and its great to see my relatives in motion and as young adults in their 30s. Sad also to think that not too much later Glasgow and Scotstoun was devastated by the blitz. Hope you enjoy it especially all the macmillans and macisaacs spread around the world.
