aspiring orchestra percussionist, i really liked this. i think it's really cool that even though he's a grown man he doesn't mind using a kiddie pool at work. that's a real artist.

It depends on the orchestra, in some cases like in New York at the Philharmonic, the principal (Chris Lamb) plays all the parts that you would play on auditions aka "the good parts", for instance if they are playing Scherrezzade he's playing snare drum, if they're playing Tchiak 4, he's playing cymbals, whereas elsewhere players specialize on certain things like my teacher (Principal of the Syracuse Symphony) specializes in cymbals
