Barcelona 2003 - Phelps breaks the 200m IM WR in semifinals

July 24, 2003 - Barcelona. During the World Championships in Barcelona, Michael Phelps broke the men's 200m IM WR twice. This video shows the first time he broke the WR with a time of 1'57.52s. As an extra, Ian Thorpe swims in lane 8.

Previous WR was 1'57.94s. Phelps broke the WR again during the final posting a time of 1'56.04. Present WR is 1'54.98.
