Arctic Norway very cool. We started from Tromso, capital of Arctic Scandinavia, and headed north along the E8 to recce the ride to Hammerfest. It took about 40 minutes and 50 lorries to conclude that the traffic here is far heavier than we were led to believe and a group ride to Hammerfest was out of the question. This was doubly confirmed when it snowed half a metre overnight and our route was blocked by an avalanche. On the plus side we discovered the stunning Lyngen Alps and a region that deserves to be the true adventure capital of Europe.
