The American Council for Immigration Reform hosted a briefing on the security crisis posed by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) that threatens our nation if amnesty and guest worker elements of Senate Immigration Reform Bill 1348 ever become law. [Although this bill failed, its individual elements will likely be raised again in other legislation.]
This charge was made and substantiated by four immigration experts at the National Press Club. All four experts are deeply familiar with the operations of the USCIS office, which is responsible for processing applications for legal permanent residency, citizenship, and evaluating supporting documents. Among the panelists was Kris Kobach, a professor of law at the University of Missouri-Kansas City and a Visiting Fellow at The Heritage Foundation.
Good argument, but with holes.
