The new tower in Tokyo will be 610m(2001ft) tall when it's constructed in 2010.
There's no English subtitles, but you probably can understand it if you take a couple of Japanese language classes at college.

  • Gonna go to it this summer like a boss. For real. Not like in a kawaii weeaboo way. Im japanese. just...yeah. no misunderstandings. all right then. bye.

Height is important because the tower is to be used for broadcasting and for TV airwaves with Analog being phased out. When you have a freaking huge city like Tokyo and you want a broadcast tower you gotta make it big to reach far and wide and over the skyscrapers.

  • @louyht7

Biggest city in the world, but space is a luxury here.

  • there's still room for that big thing in tokyo?

  • @louyht7 Japan has the highest suicide rate of any nation in the world. Maybe this is why.

  • I still prefer Tokyo Tower, symbol of the economic rebirth of Japan after ww2 and tribute to Eiffel Tower, its design less sheer with more tangle of steel was more pretty in my opinion (a cliché for battles in Japaneses animes xD).

Always higher isn't the most important (CN Tower was almost in the same height in 70s and just currently Burj Dubai is higher), identity and soul are essential. Well, perhaps I say that because I love Eiffel Tower, but I hope Tokyo Tower will remain a bit popular.

  • @rockoutdudezz back in the 1900s they didnt even have cars now there the worlds leading technology experts

  • Innovation, development, and wealth creation are so exciting. The drive to really have a new 21st century experience is what fascinates me most about North East Asia. We Americans could also do it if the country's wealth were re-invested back into our country. This would result in tech innovation, manufacturing, many new facilities, and awesome opportunities instead of boring old decaying cities. It could be exciting at home, but our leadership chooses to help other countries do it instead.

  • The Japanese always amaze me. Japan is such a fabulous country. I loved visitting there in April '06. I will go back some day. Japan is an incredibly advanced country. It is also superbly beautiful.
