entry for INFOWARS.COM, The answer to 1984 is 1776 contest

This video examines the similarities between 1984 and our society - in particular the way children are conditioned in the novel and in government schools of today. I argue that with each successive generation, the tolerance of police state tactics increases because the children are trained from an early age to accept encroachment on their Freedom and Dignity.

Most people feel that our schools are failing our children in some way - that they can attend for many years and not learn the fundamentals that provide a foundation for them to continue their education in college or in work.

I believe the government schools are doing EXACTLY what they were designed to do - control the population by getting the children at a young age and teaching them to trust the government as a benevolent dictator. This has been the stated goal of every utopian social engineer from Plato to Rousseau. It was the stated goal of the founders of the American government school system - Horace Mann and John Dewey.

BF Skinner took population control to new levels with his writings - particularly "Beyond Freedom and Dignity". Like the other social planners, he desired to destroy the family and replace it with government. He also wanted to dethrone God and replace him with the government as god.

Skinner's novel "Walden Two" was written the same year as Orwell's 1984. Skinner imagines a totalitarian utopia in stark contrast to Orwell totalitarian dystopia. While Skinner's ideas have remained relatively unknown to the general public, he is well know in the education establishment that uses his techniques of positive reinforcement to achieve a society that is Beyond Freedom and Dignity.

  • @CyberSpacesTV first of all i'm not an american, i went to a "government school" and it didn't fell like i was supressed by it. Secondly, you didn't address my point, i said there was a reason: "what goes into the textbook, and thats what is valid and not what people want to think is valid". reffering to hometeaching christians who tell their children about creationism (for example) instead of actual science. besides insults do you have a real point?

  • @Quiestre - "there is a reason why the government controlls...anyways, but professionals on the field which is taught" (sic)

Did they teach you the meaning of "irony" in your government school? Thanks for perfectly illustrating the illiteracy, statism, intolerance and bigotry inculcated by your "skul".

  • yeah let's all homeschool our children, and teach them creationism and the bible... what a bunch of bullshit, homeschooling is one of the worst things you could do. there is a reason why the "government" controlls what goes into the textbook, and thats what is valid and not what people want to think is valid. of course the government shouldn't decide this anyways, but professionals on the field which is taught. science by scientists, and history by historians and so on

  • Poor poor America its scary how much your government betrays you.... And how brainwashed many Americans are I feel sorry for you guys especially those who are awake.... Its hard enough in Australia but in America it must be painful... Great video though

  • i think schooling should be up to the states or if people still wanna homeschool them. now most states follow the federal government for education.

  • Deschooling Society by Ivan Illich is a great read.

  • @moominpug Frankly I don't think your looking for solutions or help. You just want to blame others, making assumptions about people you don't know. Do you even have children in school? If so, you need to educate yourself about what you can do and find others (other than the government) who are willing to help. They're there.

  • @decay1861 I guess you have never known true poverty in this country. It is impossible to get completely out of it. Yes, you can tell me a story about one or two amazing people who did, but they are the exception to the rule. I don't see how a huge family can afford to have one stay home to teach, if the other does not have a very high paying job, there will be no home, food, etc. You must have had mommy and daddy pay your way through the system and then helped out with first car, job, home..
