The photoelectric smoke detector is based on the phenomenon of refraction.
When the smoke enters in the detector, passes from a beam of light. When the smoke passes some limit then it is enough it turns the beam and it throws it on corresponding sensor that activates the alarm. This camera doesn't support audio, i use it just because it has better quality than my cell's phone camera!

  • Thanks Dave, yes it has a LED!

  • nice vid! I always wondered what the insides were like. Does it use an LED as the light source? 5\5

  • The chamber (black thing) is replaceable, lets say in case of a damage. The led and the other electronic parts are not replaceable. The reason that is accessible is because at least once a year you have to open it to remove the dust (depends the place that the detector is installed)! Actually even that you are able to change it, you won't find spares, i needed one outside cover for other model of the same company but they doesn't sell spare parts.

  • interesting... so is that chamber field replaceable?
