Dr. Maria Baer is the head of the Hematologic Malignancies Program at the University of Maryland Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Cancer Center. Dr. Baer is also a professor of medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.

    you can REDUCE the risk but not get rid of it completely

  • I got 50 doses of arsenic (Trisenox) last summer/autumn....also other meds....will be done with oral chemo at the end of November. it's amazing how specific treatment has become.

  • My father in law was diagnosed of leukemia today and i am educating myself about it. Having difficulties telling my wife the truth. His symptoms ( Increased white blood cells + Spleen is swollen, weakness, loss of weight, dark skin)

    any advice on how to support the family through this phase.
