How often do you thank God for the things he has given you? When you pray do you thank him for what he has done, what he has given you, or do you just ask him for the things you want? Are you thankful? Are you?
Most would say, "Yes, I'm thankful." When did you last let Jesus know that? When? Most would say, "He knows I'm thankful." But do you tell him that or take for granted that he knows all? Wouldn't you expect thanks if you did something for someone did?
How often we forget to thank God for the most importent of things: Our Salvation. He has saved us from the rocks of sin. We would have been destroyed if it were not for the light of the cross.
Send up a prayer of thanks for all that he has done.

First, God Bless you all. But come on, are you so shallow in thought that you can not relate a lighthouse to Jesus Christ? What do lighthouses do; they guide ships on their journey and keep them from coming into unsafe waters. They also were "safehavens" of sort. When a ship that was at sea for long periods of time, they saw a lighthouse they knew that they were close to land and home, same as the lightouse of Christ does for us,brings us closer to God and guides us home to Him someday.

@LighthousesUK I don't think it is possible to lead someone into religion if they weren't already looking for it. The lighthouse is a symbol of guidance and many people have changed dramatically for the better because they "saw the light" that comes from God.

In this world there is darkness and light, and so it is in the souls of mankind.

Dark and light.

Star Wars did a good job of depicting the battle between good and evil.

There is dark.

And there is light.

We each must choose.

A short time ago it hit me I was about to eat more food than many in this world have seen in two weeks. It was humbling. Now I ask God to open my eyes so I might see all the things He has given me, especially the ones I have failed to notice in the past.

And we need to also be thankful for all that He will do for us in the future. Imagine. I am certain few of us truly comprehend all that awaits us.
