What Were Once Vices Are Now Habits is the fourth studio album by American rock band The Doobie Brothers, released in 1974. Tom Johnston's "Another Park, Another Sunday" was chosen to be the album's first single. "It's about losing a girl," stated Johnston. "I wrote the chords and played it on acoustic, and then Ted [Templeman] had some ideas for it, like running the guitars through Leslie speakers." The song did moderately well on the charts. • I saw this band at Cincinnati Riverfront Colesium in 1975 or 1976. At one point one of the guys said, "Before we go on I just wanna say you guys are really outta sight!"

Remember that term "outta sight" from the laste 60s and 70s? Haha.

  • Bury me with this album at my side....

  • I saw The Doobies in '79 or '80 at Riverfront with the girl i was engaged to. This song always reminds me of the love I left behind. Even though I'm happily married, I think about "what if"'and what would of became of us if would've "grown up". Oh, well, great song, even greater memories.

  • Far out!! miss the old days.... simplier times

  • @T5radioop

Thanks for the memory T5. "Outta Sight!"

  • "just when ya think ya got a good thing it seems to slip away" The old days were such a " Good thing"

  • What a fine tune, one of those sad/sweet songs that brings memories and thoughts of better times ( like when you're a kid and immortal!!! ) Good guitar picking too.

  • Even after pop stations discovered this single's b-side, "Black Water", rock radio never stopped playing "Another Park Another Sunday" and it is without a doubt one of the coolest rock songs ever. That guitar tone is timeless and the vibes and harmonies are sublime...Cheers

  • Ah yes.......1974. What a great year. Thanks for the memory flashes with this song. Dig it

  • Many thanks for uploading this tune! It was impossible to find this original version for some strange reason until you did it...again, thanks!
