hehe. Looks cool on film. It's just shell refinery. I work there. When a plant goes down the lines are diverted temporarily through to the flare which then just burns like hell for a while, and when the clouds are low you get this amazing efect. What is cooler is when those huge fog clouds cover all of geelong/north geelong and the whole suburb just glows this eerie orangy red colour.

That happens around my place evry now and then when i fisht saw it i thought it was a ufo but yeah they are cool. i live in aus as well. somethime you can see them as little floating balls of light

im from horsham which is 30min away from the grampians & hav seen these lights (at the grampians)a few times. there well know there and are called the "min min lights" but you also see heaps of balls moving evrywere changing shape. we got so scared once we started crying & drove off.lol scientist believe it is simply refraction of light. whatever they are there creepy.
