whoever finds this shop offensive really needs to take the stick out of their ass. its all in good fun, and i am speaking as someone with bipolar and who has family members with several mental illnesses. i hardly see how this is offensive, just america trying to rid itself of creativity, i guess.

'Can't wait to try 2 or 3 of their new donut varieties.

I want to go here so bad!! I wish I lived in California ): They should franchise and make them everywhere!! :D
-
@agropoliusa You're right. I think you should hire a terrorist and blow that shop up! It sounds kinda crazy but somebody must INTENSIFY and make the struggle known!
-
I agree it looks like a good concept and those that don't like it don't have to eat there.
-
Fucken stupid. Perfect for libturds though.
-
Awesome looking place, what a concept.
All about having fun, just like the haunted houses or even Hollywood maknig a film about such topics to make money.
Acting! : )

This is not a random comment. I am outraged for myself and my family. Ignorance about other people's disabilities is excusable, but this level of insensitivity is not. On behalf of the National Alliance on Mental Illness, we are making people aware of this type of thing that contributes to the stigma people face while in treatment and recovery. It's no different from a store making fun of someone who is paralyzed.

What do you want to see? Name change? Is that going to remove the "stigma"? I'm afraid to be the one to break this to you, but that stigma was around way before Psycho Donuts and it'll be around way after too. If you don't like what they are doing, then go get your donuts somewhere else. I personally have been battling depression on and off for the past 10 years and don't feel the least bit offended or intimidated by the name of this establishment, if anything it's the best comfort food ever!

If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem. Everyone's actions have a ripple effect - ever heard of the Butterfly Effect? If you don't care about your personal impact on the world and have no personal standards, then go ahead and eat yourself silly.
The mental hospital theme, padded room, the nurse outfits, and the donut names corresponding to illnesses have to go. I can find something to eat just as good somewhere that isn't offensive.

Here's an idea why don't you start your own donut franchise and give all the donuts boring, safe, politically correct names like "fluffy goodness" and "sweet treats" or something lame like that. You can have all your boring PC friends come over and you can talk about the virtues of breathing. Unless that somehow offends the molecules in the air.

So what's next in the line for tasteless business names - Cancer Cookies? Paraplegic Pasta? Anyone with a family member with a brain injury or disorder will find this business name and their products extremely insulting. If you have ever experienced or visited an in-patient hospital for people who are extremely mentally ill, you will know it's not the least bit funny. I can't believe anyone would be so mean and imagine that being hip.

Mmmm... Cancer Cookies sound great. Is there peanut butter involved? While we're at it, lets lynch Aerosmith and Gnarls Barkley for singing a songs called "Crazy." Ridiculous, I challenge you to bring the people who this name might offend (autistic, down syndrome, schizo, manic, etc) down to the donut shop and see if they have a problem with it. I hate it when people are always outraged on the behalf of another social group. But if you were to approach that group they could care less.
