This is Amir Talai with NTDTV in the City of Angels at the 2010 LA Auto Show. Dream cars, green cars, mean cars, you wanna see cars, the LA Show's got it. Lets go take a look!
2011 BMW X3
The folks from the checkered white and blue German automaker rolled out their newest design of their luxury entry level crossover utility vehical known as the the 2011 X3. And if you want tech, its got it! Blue tooth, ipod hookup, Navigation system, heads up display, and if you want your emails read to you, its got it! Top of the line turbo charged 3.0 liter six cylinder gets 300 horsepower which hits a 0-60 in 5.5 seconds. Starting price $37,000.
Audi A7
And just when you thought you didn't have enough options in the German luxury performance vehicle bracket, the guys from the all-wheel drive world that "never follow" have unveiled the Audi A7 Sportsback.
Making its North American debut the A7 serves up that sloping curve and hatchback end that are symbolic of the prototypical coupe. Though the four-door aspect is mildly forgotten if you ever had professional basketball ambitions.
Nissan Juke
If you haven't read about it in Vogue or Style magazine, big and bulky is out, while small and nimble is in! Japanese Automaker, Nissan, believes that to be more just than just an auto fashion fad, putting on display their newest vehicle the mini-crossover utility vehicle known as the Juke. And for about 19k you can save a buck or two at the dealership and the gas station.Dodge Ram: Well let's just say big and bulky isn't all the way out!
Chevy Volt
And here we have the Chevy Volt which can generate up to 50 miles on a single charge and an 300 miles when the gasoline engine kicks in. Needless to say the Volt is certainly drawing attention considering its most recent announcement as Car of the Year from both Moto r Trend and Automobile.com
Its time when people can actually go and buy them so we will all see that and everyone can see that the electonic car era begins now and we will see how soon it is adopted.
[Brendan Flynn ; Director of Communications, LA Auto Show]
"Its time where people can actually go buy them, so we will all see the electric car era begins now and well see how quickly its adopted "
Nissan Leaf
Another all electric car joins the mix with the new Nissan Leaf. The Leaf, Nissan's first venture into the EV category, on paper gets 100 miles per charge. But that number can drop to about 68 miles per charge if you are running the air conditioner or have some changes in terrain. Starting price $33,000 without the $7500 tax credit.
Thats it for us here at the 2010 LA Auto show. The show runs from November 19th to the 28th. There's a lot of cars to choose from, but it all comes down to money. For the Rolls Royce Drophead Phantom Coupe... a half a million dollars, I highly recommend it!
i feel like we should be way more advanced than we already are.
