Ok John, bought the TS and had them installed on my Blk1. After a gig out i came to my conclusion that I am reinstalling the Blk1 Clones. The TS are great PuPs, are much hotter however, I found I get a nicer tone and variety with the Clones. The TS were much brighter and a bit too midrangy for me. Also, the clones provided a warmer bluesy tone, and for cleans, I could not get the TS to get me a true clean sound without manipulation of my settings.

@Stratmater I would paint the inside of the body and get a pickguard aluminum shield. It looks just like a pickguard but its slightly smaller and fits the back of it perfectly.

@libertyfalls thanks for the tip. so i paint the inside of the body, and paint the back of the pickguard to?

@Stratmater All single coils hum. Texas specials arent too bad. As long as you shield the inside of the body cavity with shielding paint and shield the underside of the pickguard you shouldnt have any problems.

does anybody know if the Texas Specials are quit(ish) or does it have that normal single coil hum?

@UKToneKing In this video Im using a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe special edition brown tolex with a jensen speaker. In my last couple videos Ive been using my Two-Rock John Mayer signature.

So, I should have listened to your advice, but hey thats half the fun is experimenting, right? Maybe keep the TS bridge and use the clones for middle and neck? hmmmm??

@p1ayn If youre looking for a fat bridge pickup I would go for the duncan SSL5 or raising the bridge pickup height. Keep me updated!
