There is naturally some fear and anxiety that comes along with welcoming a foster child into one's home. However these are often based on misconceptions, and above all else, they are no match for the great rewards that also come with adopting an older child.

  • @savvy1954 You seem to have a very cynical view of adoptive parents. As an adoptive parent, I find your comment rather offensive! Of course my son doesn't 'owe me' because we chose to adopt him! He deserved better than what his crack addicted birth mother could give him. We prayed about it and felt led to adopt him. We don't differentiate in conversations between our biological children and our adopted son. He's just our son. Our 3rd son and 5th child. He will always be our child!

  • I love this. I was a foster child from 2 to 18. At 16 I found a mom and awsome dad. To this day I thank God for them I am now 48. They have been my parents for 33 years. Bless all adoptive parents who adopt older children.

  • Holla! Have you considered anxiety zero technique (Go to anxiety0.info)? Ive heard some awesome things about it and my sister pretty much cured panick attacks with it.

  • the real TEST is when they become TEENAGERS....is your love conditional? will you tell them THEY OWE YOU BECAUSE YOU ADOPTED THEM?
