It has Barker lever which breaks the central link that organists claim gives them greater control. It does not play like a tracker nor does it play like an EP. There is really no control that you speak of.

Definition of plastic fantastic in this case: American synthesizers with multiple manuals which they call an organ ;)
-
Since it's no plastic fantastic organ, the manuals make some noise yes ;)
-
never said that... :-D
the organ, where i practice is a small but wonderful mechanical instrument (just turned 25 years) and my favorite organ with electronic actio is the great Seiffert Organ in Kevelaer (one of the biggest organs in europe and just 25 min with the car away :D
-
"Electro-pneumatic" =D
Yes, mechanical organs are wonderful. I like electronic consoles too but only if they are well crafted.
-
ah ok, didnt think of the barker
have never played an organ with barker lever...
i prefer mechanical organs much more than electromagnetic (i dont mention pneumatics here :-D)
-
i read that it is the pedal that makes so much noise... but i dont think you hear it down in the church :-)

lovely piece, is it just the sound quality or do the manuals on this organ make quite a lot of noise when be played!?
Its just the mechanics of this organ, its the barker leaver. But really I don't mind it because on mechanical organs you can feel the whole instrument while playing it.
Allows the organist greater control of airflow.

Mr. Roth fingering and his relaxed mood while playing such difficult pieces is astounding! No one has this confidents and such ease while seated at the organ bench in my humble opinion. Watch his playing closely and you'll see something in how he handles the keyboard, and the pedaling which is beyond words to speak
