I've got Sonic Gems Collection for Nintendo Gamecube. The jump buttons I've set as A and X. Do I have to push both buttons at the same time? Do I also have to hold the buttons for the impossible jumps?

Also, I've got the weapons and other items as B and Y.

But I'm just referring everything to this game.
