  • Hey I bought this about 2 days ago. The sound quality is really good, but i feel that the bass could be more powerful. I have the Creative X-Fi Titanium HD and it says on the box that it could drive headphones up to 330 Ohms. Technically it can drive these cans with no problem, but I'm really tricked about this. How do you think your portable amps perform with the DT 990's?

  • @guiga0cs These headphones do not really perform at their best on portable amps (although still better than straight out of an ipod). I would recommend getting a more powerful dedicated desktop amplifier.

  • @kenshin3249 Hum I see. The strange thing is that I'm using an external sound card, which claims that support headphones up to 330 Ohms and I still have the feeling that I want more bass.

  • @guiga0cs how long have they had music played through them? I would say give them about 100 - 200 hours of music play time before they start sounding their best. You also need to take into consideration that these are considered open backed headphones and open headphones do not usually have the capability to reproduce bass as powerful as a pair of closed backed headphones. You may want to look into the BeyerDynamic DT770 or some Ultrasone headphones for bass.

  • Dude, thats the same as my setup! OMG

  • @CHRONO1911 lol, that E5 was only a temporary setup. I've upgraded to the FiiO E9 desktop amp as of recently. I've also recently picked up a set of Sennheiser HD650 headphones. hm... maybe i should do a comparison in the next week or 2. hmmm...

  • @RobRob956 why would i play music on these for you? You are only going to hear them as good as my microphone is and as good as your current setup. And if you buy the beats then you wasted a lot of money. Beats are $100 headphones with a $300 price tag. The only good thing about beats is that they look kinda cool. But hey, if you want to waste your money, go right ahead.

  • @undeaddezreal I have the same question =)

  • @Devol1982 The MKIIII is good and improved the quality of the headphones. I mean, the bass still not beast and stuff but it's good, and I enjoy hearing music on them. I think that this headphone doesn't have a monster bass naturally, and it's not fault of the amp.

  • This fiio 5 is enough for these headphones?

  • @guiga0cs So how is Little dot MK 3 in comparison to X-Fi?!

  • oh God thats like putting a toyota engine in an Audi :(

  • @TheExplodingPanda I tried my headphone on my Titanium HD sound card and on an onboard sound card, and I noticed no difference at all. So, I bought the Little Dot MKIII, and I heard a lot of good comments about this amp. The amp is coming from China, so it will probably take about 2 or 3 weeks to come. Can't wait to try my cans on that little thing =)

  • @guiga0cs Hey man, you might have solved your problem by now, but this is just a friendly bit of advice. Your sound card may say they drive up 330 ohms, but driving them WELL is a different story. Getting an amp that can fully power these headphones is highly recommended. and not a portable amp like the guy in the video. You'll need a way more powerful amp than that. The FiiO E7/E9 combo is a really good place to start.

  • Best quality?? This Headphones?.

  • @kenshin3249 how does the e9 do for bass? thanks! i ma basshead and want these for gaming but im scared the bass wont sattisfy my huge bass needs xD

  • @guiga0cs get the Zo2
