This is a song by the late Elizabeth "Libba" Cotton, best known for another of her composisitons, "Freight Train."

She's also known for her "upside-down and backwards" fingerpicking technique: she was left-handed, but did not restring the guitar, so she used her index finger to play the alternating bass notes for which most of us use our thumbs, and picked out the melody on the treble strings with her (left) thumb.

Recorded December 21, 2010 at the Neutral Ground Coffee House in New Orleans, wher I can be seen on the 3rd Tuesday of every month from 9 to 10 pm.

I hope the video conveys a little taste of the venue's 1960s-time-warp ambiance
