GM's executives knew his potential, thus when he left, they got scared.. obviously making a car that lasts 25 years isn't good business for GM who need to sell cars fast.. Thus GM went to the government, they set him up, and destroyed the competition. Obviously if your family is being threatened, you have no choice to go on with it... this is practically torture, psychological torture. This is utterly frustrating... and after the first attempt to stop him, they tried with "fraud".. really? wow..

DeLorean was a brilliant engineer, but was overcome by his own hubris. A damned shame, as he took GM to new heights during his reign as an executive.

we see the corruption of the US Government in plain sight... DeLorean was clearly made to go along with the crime. How can he be charged when they made him do it. His family life was threatend and they destroyed this man because he took his business out of the country...
