Whats in the basement ? - [unfinished horror short] - HV20

[PLOT] - guy is sleeping when is woken up by strang noises, and goes into his basement to see what is causing all the comotion.... This is a horror short i'm working on, most trying out sound effects, but also trying out the 'night scene' preset in magic bullet. turning out 'OK' so far still needs tweaking, the sound is quite weak so turn your speakers up LOUD to listen to it and obviously it needs an ending... i need help with ideas what could bein the basement so let me know what you think it should be (joke ideas will be deleted) filmed with a canon HV20 in HDV at 25p.

How in the world did you get such dark images without adding noise/grain to the image? I try to light my vids like this, but always get fuzz.By the way, what kinda lights did you use?

@sonne5 - most of the footage was shot during the day or with strong work lights. and i colour corrected the footage to look like night. all footage was shot at 0db of gain.

9 its really good in low light ( when using the no gain trick i would give it a 10 ).

Did you change the lighting preset on the HV20...this is really nice footage...also what rendering codec do you use?

The ending for this video,since you have Magic Bullet.Make it were when he is making the Phone Call, do a boot leg matrix..(you know were the camera circles around the subject slow mode almost/as there still it can be achieved even better with a steaycam)and use magic bullet to do transition into a washed out bleach look(saving private ryan)to convey us viewers hes no longer in that house but some where else in time,Maybe whatever is lurking in your build-up is trying to let him know something.

Hey "AfricanMarty" Great video!I just Bought the New HV30 love the camera and have been experimenting with lock exposure trick.The thing is when I point the camera at a light source I guess depending on the intensity of the light source I get different apature settings everytime I set it?Once I had it locked on f56?I dont know about this the lowest setting is f8 not f56 let me know how you mastered the locking techinque because I realy like the way you achieved the video so far!

that was pretty ace! had some really good shots in that, built up a nice atmosphere. you defo need to do more with that doll!
