The Motown Sound came roaring into 1965 like a train and Kim Weston was one of the artists on board who helped define the music of Motown. It was during this time that Kim Weston was in the studio working with numerous writers and producers to find the right song. This song was one of those that were recorded that unfortunately did not see the light of day until 2005. It surely was A-side single material!

Written by: Vernon Bullock-Henry Cosby-William "Mickey" Stevenson
Produced by Henry Cosby and William "Mickey" Stevenson
Track recorded: date unknown
Strings recorded: November 9, 1965
Lead & background vocals recorded: November 17, 1965

  • Brenda Holloway and Kim Weston should have been recruted to The Marvelettes they would have been a Super Group. Along with Gladys, Wanda and Kathrine. No girl group would be able to stop them.

  • MOTOWN..THE GREATEST RECORD LABEL IN THE WORLD...

  • I LOVE MOTOWN!

  • What a classy lady Kim is. This is an intense slice of drama- the structure reminds of of the Four Tops' "Shake Me, Wake Me" but with even more of a dark, frantic edge. There's something about the way the whole thing is going full-steam ahead and suddenly does this downturn at the :24 mark- the way the vibe sort of cushions the sudden downshift to another key. Brilliance! Kim keeps everything in control and yet there is so much tension throughout it keeps you on pins and needles. Encore!!

  • Kim Weston is the awesome and most amazing voice of Motown from the Classic Years and soulful gems like this show the lady is a legend and needs acclaim for an incredible body of work Motown and beyond...Bravo Kim!!!
