fun video- thanks for sharing, I was wondering what can be used instead of Shea butter and at what ratio?

Just so you know 4Tbsp is 1/4 c. So 8Tbsp world be 1/2c.

You can use guar gum powder or xanthan gum powder (or both) to get it to thicken up naturally. It only takes a little, little, little bit of guar gum and whisk it (stir or use a blender) to get it to start thickening. The more you add, the thicker it will be, so add a tiny bit at a time (seriously, like less than a teaspoon at a time) Guar gum can be added to the lotion even if its not over heat. When you add it, let it sit for like 30min-1hr b/c it will thicken over time

water??? You mean aloe vera liquid??? it doesn't call for water. or did I miss something.
and can I also use cocoa butter to replace the shea butter???

@courtneytufts Sorry about that, yes, the aloe liquid. Sure, you can substitute cocoa butter for the shea butter. You will not have to heat the cocoa butter to 180 like you do the shea butter. Just melt it is all.

Hi there,,,I made this lotion twice now,,,and it seems a bit on the watery side. It does thicken up , but not like I was hoping. What can I do to get it a little thicker???
=)

@courtneytufts You can use less water in the recipe. Maybe cut it back by 10% and it'll be thicker.
